My name is Colbie Ratliff. I am fifteen years old. I am a freshman in high school and I have lived in Willow Park my whole life. I love Willow Park because it is my home and it has my memories of friends and family, and I love how quiet and peaceful it is compared to the hectic crowds in the city.
I have been dancing for ten years in Bergmann School of Dance in Weatherford, while being homeschooled my whole life. I go to a co-op called Dominion Equippers, where I’ve made a lot of friends with kids my age and with my teachers.
Three years ago, I had a physics teacher who has been my teacher for a few years. She has become a close friend of our family. Last summer she told us about how she goes on mission trips with an organization called World Light Missions every summer to various countries across the globe. They go to help teach people how to speak English, as well as help churches reach out to more people. She told us that many people are welcome, and if we desired to we could accompany her next summer. After talking about it and praying for a long while, my family decided that we would try to raise enough money to go this summer on this mission trip to Grenada, Spain.
When I first heard about this, I was thrilled. I had always wanted to go on a mission trip to help people around the world. I love feeling helpful towards others and feeling a part of something bigger than myself. I am extremely hopeful and excited for this trip. We will be working with children in Spain and I love being around children.
I am excited to help others and teach kids about God’s never- ending love! We will be planting seeds in young kids about how He loves us so much, that He sent His only son for us. I hope that I can help many kids out and help them in a way to where they may have many opportunities in our world in the future, and also help them in a spiritual fashion so that they can establish a relationship with our Creator!
